Where are you based?

I am based 30 mins south of Wollongong, a place called Shellharbour.

My partner is shy in front of a camera, how will that work on video?

The way I film depends on your personality, usually you won't even notice me as I let the photographer lead and get the shots i need from a distance.

What do you include in the extended version?

Depending on the package selected, this includes but not limited to, the end to end ceremony, reception formalities such as bridal party entrance, speeches, cake cutting and waltz. depending on the package you choose and if there is time left over, some dancing.

Do you keep in contact with us throughout the lead up to our wedding?

Yes, I actually recommend that you follow me on Facebook/Instagram so you can learn a little more about me. I always make contact 4 weeks prior to your wedding, just to confirm details and see how things are going. A day before the wedding, I'll give you guys a quick call to say hello (or send a quick email) and let you know that I'll be there.

Why do I need to leave a booking fee and how much?

By leaving a booking fee, it secures your date which means I will not take any bookings for your chosen date. As some dates (especially in September, October and November) are high in demand a booking fee is required and can be made in cash or direct deposit. Once I have received the funds, I'll send you an email to confirm that your deposit has been received and your date is secured.

I would like some of the morning preparations filmed, how much time do you need?

Approximately 3 hours prior to your wedding, the reason is I need at least 45 mins with the groom, travel time to the bride, 1 hour or more with the bride and travel time to the ceremony. I like to get to the ceremony 30 mins prior to set up my gear, get shots of guest arriving etc.

By having two cinematographers, does that mean I can have one of you guys at the grooms and the other at the brides?

Due to the style of filming, we are not separated during filming. When something happens on video I want it to be natural and hate to ask you if you can do it again. For example, when a parent sees the bride for the first time, I usually get a nice close up shot and my second shooter, would get a wide shot of this happening. Once I edit the footage, it makes a better story.

What do you believe makes a good wedding video/film?

I believe what makes a good wedding video/film is the story of the couple in it, to keep it real and candid, have true emotions of the day form laughter, tears and joy. Besides that, filming technique and post production skills are required. Also audio is very important, as a backup we always organise a line out that records from a PA system for the speeches or mic up the groom to give us clear audio such as the vows. During the speeches it may be dark so we bring self standing lighting to give a clearer crisp image

Are you a fully insured and registered business?

Phamily productions is fully registered and I have $20 million in public liability. I also pay an annual license with amcos/aria for private use of music. If you want to be able to share your short version online, I can select a song and pay for an additional license for this. All my software is licensed.

How do you work with other photographers?

I love working alongside photographers. I usually let the photographer lead on the day while i get my shots from a distance. However, I love working alongside people who i can bounce ideas off and also have fun with!

Do I get to choose the background music for my, "highlights"?

I usually choose a track that fits the feel of the day. These tracks are also license for online use so you are allowed to share with friends and family such as Facebook.

Due to copyright laws, I’m unable to use any copyright or commercial music/songs that I do not own the licence to.

How long does it take to get the finished product?

It takes 10 to 14 weeks, as Ii prioritise my workload from other weddings to complete. Video takes longer than photos to edit as it involves different editing techniques. In addition I do everything myself from initial conversations to editing.

Why should I consider making initial contact to book you for my day?

Firstly check out my website, Facebook page, read my reviews and shop around before you see me. I do this full time and enjoy what I do. From the feedback from couples, they have told me that I have a good sense of humor, not too serious and professional manner from start to finish. I would love to have a chat, there is no pressure to book. If you feel like you connect with my work, I would be so honored to be able to be part of and film your wedding.
